Despite hitting the crib late last nite, i was wide awake at 5.00 am.. it occured to me that it was best for me to buck up with my training for my singapore half marathon next week.. it was really unplanned.. right after performing subuh prayer, i left the house and headed towards my training ground, nun jauh di KL, in lake garden vicinity to be exact..
i reached the place around 6.35am.. it was still dark and there were already few taitais and ahpeks at the parking and playground area doing the customary stretching.. after stretching out, off i went to the route of lake garden and kenny hill vicinity.. the route that me and fellow runner, babart always venture whenever we feel like running at a decent moderate distance.. this time around i ran all alone as it was an unplanned run.. this route was said to be invented and explored by a runner friend.. the distance of the route is roughly around 10km.. knowing lake garden and kenny hills area, one can expect that the terrain is hilly.. but this route particularly, although it is hilly, most of the route are going downhill.. the runner in me finds this route not so challenging.. hehhe.. maybe when the right time comes, i will explore my own route and invent a more uphilly route..
what is interesting with this route is that one gets to see a lot of KL's places of attraction that is hidden from public access.. we normally heard of those places but have not had the slightest idea where it is located at.. for some of the places, one doesnt even know that the place even exist in the first place pun i.e royal malaysian police museum which is located just behind the islamic museum and at the feet of planetarium negara.. among other places that one gets to pass by while running on this route are Carcosa Seri Negara, Bird Park, Planetarium Negara, Masjid Negara, kawasan istana, Muzium Islam,taman kancil dan rusa(inside lake garden), memorial tun abdul razak, tugu negara dan banyak lagi lah (in random order)..
i finished the 1st lap of the route in 53 minutes.. i felt that i can still go to further distance and decided to do a 2nd lap of it.. as i was on my half way of the route, lethargy crept in and i could feel mild pain in my knee joints.. but i was still good to go even though my pace and stride became slower and smaller.. at this time it was all bright as the sun started showing itself.. i finished the 2nd lap in 59 minutes.. time in total= 1 hour 52 minutes.. i think it was not bad.. the most important for me is to be able to run non stop the whole distance irregardless of the time clocked..
at 9 i call it an end and off to putrajaya for breakfast..stopped by at Sungai Besi Hiway's McDonald Drive thru to end my prosperity burger craving only to find that they only serve breakfast meals.. off i went to mamak's presint 9 and feasted on delicious thosai that was so sedap..
